An Act to amend the Public Service Rules to provide that every male federal public servant shall be entitled to 14 consecutive calendar days of fully paid paternity leave on the occasion of the birth of his child or the legal adoption of a child under the age of three. The leave shall be taken within 60 days of the birth or adoption. The Bill amends the Labour Act, the Police Service Regulations, and the Armed Forces Service Conditions to extend the same entitlement to officers and other ranks of the federal security services.

State governments are encouraged but not compelled to make corresponding provision for their public servants...
