An Act to provide that every pregnant woman ordinarily resident in Nigeria, and every child below the age of five, shall be entitled to free essential health services at any accredited primary health centre. The services covered shall include: antenatal consultations, skilled birth attendance, postnatal care for mother and infant for six weeks following delivery, routine childhood immunizations as prescribed by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, treatment of malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoeal disease in children under five, and emergency obstetric referrals.
