A Law to require any person offering accommodation in Lagos State for a continuous period of fewer than 28 days, in exchange for payment, to register the property with a new Lagos State Tourism Accommodation Register maintained by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. Registration shall confirm compliance with basic safety standards, including functional smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and a clearly displayed evacuation plan. Platform operators (online intermediaries) shall be required to verify host registration before listing a property.
A tourism levy of 5 percent of the booking value shall be remitted by the host monthly, with platform operators required to withhold and remit on behalf of hosts where the booking is processed through the platform.
